Hot Nuts
Attention all london foodies and visiting London foodies: Green Lanes is a lesser known destination for authentic Turkish restaurants and a plethora of Turkish / Greek / Cypriot and now Eastern European food shops. I am absolutely “nuts” (sorry) about this Turkish shop, which does just as it says on the sign - it has a hot food counter full of plain and seasoned nuts freshly roasted on site: sugared almonds, spicy cashews, salted skin-on peanuts and dozens more. It’s a squirrel’s nirvana. They also have all manner of dried fruits including blueberries, strawberries, tayberries, mulberries and mango, all sold by weight at very reasonable prices. Green Lanes is also notable as one of the only places where you can get food and booze 24 hours a day! Though you’ll have to stock up on your hot nuts during normal business hours.
